Osmos X

OSMOS X is a French deep-tech start-up based in Rennes, nicknamed the First Galactic Trucking Company, which is rethinking orbital logistics by developing reusable orbital transfer vehicles (OTVs) called Thorus, powered by high-efficiency multi-charged ion electro-plasma technology. This propulsion system offers ultra-low gas consumption, high reliability, and sustained thrust over long periods, paving the way for multiple missions in LEO and GEO, such as repositioning, orbital transfer, refueling, and contactless deorbiting of satellites, thereby helping to reduce launch costs, extend satellite lifespans, and clean up the space environment. Founded in 2022, incubated at ESA BIC Nord France and supported in particular by VC Expansion via an EIC Pathfinder grant, OSMOS X plans to launch its first thrusters in 2028 and its Thorus fleet around 2030.
