Khimod
KHIMOD is a French company belonging to the ALCEN group, specializing in the conversion of CO₂ and low-carbon hydrogen into synthetic fuels such as e-methane, e-methanol, and e-fuels. It relies on innovative heat exchanger reactor technology, designed using a diffusion welding process initially developed for the ITER program. KHIMOD offers turnkey systems for sectors that are most difficult to decarbonize, such as aviation, maritime, chemicals, and waste management.
It is involved in pilot projects such as Jupiter 1000, Methycentre, and Avebio, which aim to demonstrate the industrial feasibility of producing sustainable fuels from captured CO₂ and renewable hydrogen. In July 2025, KHIMOD raised €23 million from investors such as Bpifrance, Audacia, and ALCEN to accelerate the deployment of its low-carbon solutions on an industrial scale.
