The Bourrienne Prize, created by Charles Beigbeder, is awarded each year to a work that turns science into storytelling, engaging with literature to reach a wide audience. For its third edition, the jury has chosen to honour Kumiko Kotera, astrophysicist and research director at the CNRS, for her book L’Univers violent (The Violent Universe, published by Éditions Albin Michel).

This rigorous, poetic and accessible text invites readers to discover the most extreme phenomena in the cosmos while sharing the passion of the scientists who study them.
